flight app
An application of tabular typography, creating a straightforward user interface through a cohesive visual system.
objective
Create a clean, accessible flight tracking interface to allow users to navigate to and locate necessary information with ease.
typeface selection and color studies
Both Inter and Montserrat were chosen for their visual accessibility -- clean, bold sans serif fonts that are ideal for quick scanning of tabular displays. For my color pallet I wanted to center greens and blues, colors traditionally associated with safety, while allowing space for red and orange to readily signify changes in flight status, such as delays or cancellations.
single cell iteration
ten cell iteration
With the most effective and legible cells chosen, I proceeded to experiment with how the cells would appear as a repeated unit and which would cell group would communicate content the most effectively.
